Mislead on a will by step-mother or acting solicitor, or both?

Ok , this is going to be long. My grandfather dies in 2003, sole title deed holder on his property, left everything to his daughter (mu mum): however her step-mother ( widow), told my mum she had not been left a thing. Mum never had corresponsdance from the solicitor to explain the will: however 18 months later, step-mother calls and asks my mum is she would be happy with 50 %. Thinking she had nothing, mum agreed on the phone: again nothing from the solicitor to explain. Then mum gets a letter from the solicitor, think it was a deed of variation . asking her to sign, which she did: then gets a confirmation that she is now 50% owner. However, the original will said it was mums but step-mother had a life interest in the property, so could live there rent free but had to pay the upkeep ( as stated in the will). trust status would continue to be in force even if step- mother brought a new property. Trust was set up for the benefit of GD's children ( my mum). the solicitor who was dealing for it on behalf of the step-mother, seems to have used a verbal ok from the step-mother, to let her gain 50% of the property, but without informing my mum fully: has my mum been mislead? also, the property is now for sale, and the step-mother wants to dissolve the trust,, so mum and her get their 50% now..not comfortable with that either. any advice would be gratefully received. we are going to seek legal advice, but need something to go on. thanks

I found a 2 bedroom apartment for $675 a month. I did the math and if I found a job that paid minimum wage and I work 8 hours a week i'd make $1152 a month. I added up how much food, water and electric bill with the rent. I would have to pay about $1080 a month. I would have $72 left over for assentials, but I would also get $185 a month TANF a month maybe more. So that gives me a little extra :) I'm also almost positive that I would get food stamps. I dont have to pay a cell phone bill because i'm on my dads plan. The goverment is helping me with day care so I only have to pay like $15 a month for day care. I'm wondering if this is a good plan and if anyone has any ideas to add of to correct me? I would really appreciate some advice ASAP :)

I have been riding motorcycles for a while, but not really on the street. I've been fixing motorcycles for quite some time, and then selling them, but I don't really ride. Never learned. No one taught me, my parents don't ride. I've been shipped off to college (University of Alabama, ROLL TIDE! ) and I had a little bit of pocket money to spend.. so I decided to get my first "real" bike. I came across a 2007 Hyosung GT250R with title, tags, and only 1,800 miles for $1,600. Bike runs great, and I'm picking it up this weekend. Okay so I just started this new job, one week. My Roommate Wants to get a Dog?

So, my roommate and I are 2 single guys living in an apartment in the city. My roommate wants to get a dog and I am not sure this is a good idea. My roommate is flat broke all the time; he’s even borrowing rent money from me every month until the middle of the month. I had a serious talk with him about finding more income so he can start paying his share of the rent ON TIME. Now he wants “us” to get a 10-month-old puppy. Personally, I love pets a lot, but I am a very busy young man (working full time and part-time grad student) at this point in my life and I can’t afford the time, responsibility and costs that come with taking care of a dog. A dog would have to be my roommate’s sole responsibility, and I just don’t see that happening since he can hardly pull his own weight even now. How is he going to pay for its food or its vet bills? How will he pay me or the apartment back if the dog tears up my furniture or the apartment carpeting? I predict he's going to be borrowing money from me to pay for these expenses and asking me to help out with the dog when I'm pressed for time already as it is. I hate to have to sound like a bad person and tell him we can’t have a dog. I’m not an animal-hater, in fact, I’d like a dog if I had more time on my hands to take care of one, but I work every day and go to school/meetings at night. I don’t know, am I wrong? I am 17 and live with my mom and step-dad. My step-dad is bipolar and VERY controlling. I have had a steady, part-time job for over a year. I am in NHS, band, FFA, and make very good grades. Every time I am home I am, constantly in trouble because I "didn't do the dishes" or that I "am never home and need to take care of my home responsibilities" even though my step-dad is the one who forced me to get a job in the first place. My step-dad often yells and honestly does things just to be mean, he says that's how he was raised and so that's how he treats us. I am not lazy and am a very kind person, I am just fed up with being treated like a dog. My step-dad has a 23 year old son, however he never knew he existed until he was 12. This is when his son came to live with him. He left his own father's home at 15, only 3 years after first meeting him, because of the way my step-dad treated him. I have everything planned out as to rent, bills, school, and my future. I would be moving in with my boyfriend who also has a steady job and is currently enrolled in college. We have been dating for over a year and me leaving home is not because I'm "in love" or "want to always be by his side". I would be living with him because his parents have a house that they let him live in and we wouldn't have to pay rent, just bills. We also work at the same place and it would be convenient. However I am not unrealistic about it. I know it will be hard but I've had time to figure stuff out and my family says they completely understand, they do not like my step-dad either, and will support and help me. I am tired of being treated this way and just need some advice, I only have 1 more year of high school and would be attending the same school I always have and would continue to work as I have since sophomore year. Honestly here's the reason why I think that is, training for spec ops as a civilian takes Money. You need to have access to a sizable pool like a 25m, you need access to excercise equipment which needs to be purchased or at a gym, if you are trying to enter a spec ops group with alot of emphasis in water training like air force spec ops or navy spec ops you need to practics fin swimming which costs about 75 bucks. If you aren't attending some sort of crossfit gym or another intense workout gym you need to have acces to a computer and Internet to find out how to do these wrkouts on your own. Minorities usually do not live in middle class or upper middle class enviroments or have that kind of income. That is why you will find less of them.

SHOULD I SUE THIS PLACE??

last year I was in student accommodation for my first year at uni. this was not the universitys accom. it was a general student accommodation for many unis. since the start i had problems with heating and they kept saying they would fix it but nothing for about a month. as it was winter it had an awful effect on my health and the line was crossed when I stopped getting warm water!! no matter how much they said they were trying to fix it i iknow they werent and i had no heating and hot water whatsoever!! as a result of this I missed a lot of uni because I was so ill and going out on the tube every morning in the freezing cold and wet only to come back to a freezing cold room unable to even have a warm shower was unbearable. I became so ill that I had to go back to my Mothers 60 miles away - this was fine, but i was missing uni! the only reason i couldnt move to other accommodations was because i had a contract with them and they would NOT release me! long story short (ish) I was finally released from my contract in January (i had to get my dad to make them!!) and i moved out - however this was 5 months into my first year - i have just received my results and i have failed 2 out of 4 modules because of the time i missed even though i tried so hard to catch up it was impossible, as this is their fault should i sue them for all the money i paid in rent (�800 per month for a tiny damp room and bathroom) and also for the money i had to pay to go to uni when i didnt even go!! i feel i deserve some compensation for this, it ruined my life as i now have to leave uni!! :(

Assured shorthold tenancy ending, what are my options?

I, along with 2 others, have an assured shorthold tenancy for a period of 6 months which ends on the 7th of July. When we were signing this in January the landlord informed us that she had other people moving in in July, and so with the tenancy coming to an end we have found a new house to move to on 7th July. However, when we asked the landlord what she wanted us to do with our keys at the end of the lease, she said that we had not served her with notice, and would continue to be liable for the rent until we gave her 1 months notice. I mean first i'd say that you should try and talk to her about these issues, but it seems that you have already tried this. I would recommend trying it again being a little sterner/serious if you have to. Maybe she just didn't get the point the first time around. As this does tend to happen. If she still doesn't change it's honestly up to you. If you don't want to deal with that sort of stuff or be stressed out about it then don't. Little finger tendon problem?

My little finger on only one (right) hand is starting to act up, i first noticed this 4 years ago but it hasn't really affected me until now. He works at tops, and I work at a restaurant, Im a busser making 4.25 an hour plus tips, I walk out of work with about 80 dollars a night and thats on a slow day.I work from 4-9. Only three days a week right now. So I make around 300 in three days. Plus my boyfriends wages. The apartment we want is 375 a month. Tenants have to pay for water and electricity. I have a car, my parents told me when I move out I would still be allowed on their insurance as long as I pay 100 dollars a month. So putting everything together gas, rent, food, insurance. Do you think we would make it with both of our incomes?

Can roommate enter room without permission?

I have a verbal agreement with my roommate for renting a master bedroom with private bath. I pay my rent on time as agreed upon. Since I have started renting the room, not only has he increased the rent by $120 a month, he has also moved in his girlfriend, her daughter and constantly has a houseful of people. There is only one other bathroom in the house and he has told me that any time they feel the need to, whoever wants to, will come into my room to use my bathroom. I was under the impression that if I am paying rent on a room, that no one is allowed to come into my room without further notice. I keep my door closed at all times and it never happens when I am home. Only when I am gone. Please help as I am feeling very invaded by my roommate.

Be kind but firm with your children. They need to know the rules, but they also need to know that they are loved by their parents no matter what. They don't need punishment, they need to learn how to handle situations appropriately. Why set up kids for failure so they can know failure? They will fail on their own, so set them up for success and keep the self esteem high, even when they fail. They will be able to handle failure better that way.

I can't cope with life anymore, what can I do?

I can't cope with life anymore. My husband told me this week that he is moving out and wants a divorce. I don't know what to do, I feel like I can't take care of myself anymore. I can't work because all I do is cry. I went to work today but immediately was sent home because I'm an emotional mess. I'm a college student with about two semesters to go until I get my Bachelor's, but I can no longer pay attention in class. Unfortunately, how you appear in the interview for a fast food job reflects how you will be working in these stressful situations. Academics mean nothing in these types of jobs. If you have experience working in a team environment - teaching soccer, currently (not in the past) playing in a sporting team -= these are ways to prove your ability. That is what they are looking for. What they want is someone they can train and has a low probability NOT to move to a better paying job in the future - so do not mention your percieved money problems - that would be a red flag.

5-man band sharing apartment?

so i was sitting on the couch in my living room watching csi wearing a shirt with a peanut on it when all of the sudden, a green, flying elephant from saturn wearing a ballerina tutu tried to eat my shirt off. so i ran and got on my bike with no wheels and peddled it backswards up the great pyramid of giza, and once i got over the pyramid, i stopped to tie my shoelace. when i got back up, i was inside a super mario bros. game. when i was attacked by a flying turtle, for some reason i screamed mamma-mia, then the screen went black for 2 seconds before i landed in a place called oz, and some weird smelling guy told me to follow a yellow brick road to graceland to see elvis, but on my way, i fell into a black hole and landed in bikini bottom, where i sort of couldn't breath, so i ran into some underwater squirrels tree dome to get air where i was shot by al capone after i refused to give him a stick of my gum. after i was shot, i woke up naked (i REALLY wonder how that happened....)in some imaginary cartoon like place and realized i was a cartoon too. next to me there was a tootsie pop, and all of the sudden for no reason i just wanted to no how many licks it takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop, so i was walking around asking a bunch of talking animals, and they all told me i had to ask mr hitler. so i asked him, "Mr. Hitler, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?" So he took it and amazingly he licked it into a statue of him doing his weird salute in only just 119 licks. frustrated, i walked away only to fall into a deep dark hole, which i have been stuck in for three days. but all of the sudden, just like 30 minutes ago, my laptop came floating down the hole with angel wings, but once i grabbed it, the wings blew up (bummer). i don't need to know how to get out of here, there's just one thing i want to know before i die...if a tree falls down in a forest and no one's around to hear it, does it make a noise?

I have a dressage show tomorrow, any tips?

I'm 27 and have been riding english since I was 4. I actually have only ever shown hunter and my last show was when I was 17. So it's been 10 years. Tomorrow will be my first dressage show EVER! I'm competing in the 2011 USDF Intro tests A and C. I am confident about remembering the test and I just have to remember to focus on showing my horse and thinking one step ahead about what I'm doing and where I'm going. Riding her up and into the bit, maintaining bend, half halts into downward transitions, firm halt at X so she'll square up, balanced seat, etc. Since it's a small show tomorrow, tests are not split up into age groups. I'll be competing mostly all against kids. haha I'm also sharing the horse I'm riding with another kid at the barn I ride at. Ok so I know to smile when I ride in the test, as I salute, and also at the end. It can give the judge a good impression and help them remember you. What else can I do to be at my best? Ok. Here is my situation. I am 32 and having been renting the in-law apartment in my mothers house for the past four years. My 7 yrs old son lives with me. I have been paying her $800 / mo for rent, utilities included. In the main house she live with my two brothers, ages 23 and 19. My parents have been divorced for four years and this is the house we grew up in. My great grandfather on my father's side built the house and four generations have been raised in this house (may be irrelevant, but whatever). 3 weeks ago my mother but the house up for sale. She told my brothers and I the night before the sign went up. Her reason is because she want to live in a one bedroom condo and does not want the maintenance of a house. I understand and respect her reasons. However she then went about saying that she can't let my brothers "stand in her way anymore" and when I asked what they were gonna do she said it is "not her problem" . Long story short...I don't make much money nor have much in savings and I will be in need of a new car in the near future. I have asked her to lower my rent while the house is on the market so I could save up for moving expenses and a down paymt on a car and she said no. My father and brothers think I should just stop paying her. I feel bad doing that as I still use utilities. Should I just tell her that I can only afford to give her $400 end of discussion? Also, makes a very decent salary and my brothers also pay a small rent between $200-300 per mo. She is not selling the house because she can't afford it anymore.

Hi,I am a freshman in high school. I moved to a high school at the beginning of the school year straight from California. I had social anxiety that is gradually getting better because I'm getting use to this new lifestyle. Now I can manage to talk to some of my teachers without having a nervous breakdown. I still haven't really made good friends here, just the one where you get a fist bump here or there. When I came to this school, people really thought I was cool and they wanted to be friends with me judging by there body language. Every one was staring at me smiling, it wasn't creepy but it was a warm welcome. One day I overheard a group of girls saying I was cute, hot and sexy. Being shy wasn't easy, half of me wanted friends really bad but my shyness took over me and I knew I could be awkward so I stayed quiet for about 5 months. I guest when I moved here I missed all the good friends I made in Cali, I think about them from time to time. I forgot about them later because I wanted to make new friends not clinging on about the past. It went pretty well after the 5 horrible months of torture. I made some friends and I am not that hot anymore so the girls don't stare at me often. In lunch or in my honors classes, during group discussions (almost all recent discussions) every time I speak everyone just look annoyed. Well I was annoyed too so I asked you for help. there's this pakistani guy i used to work with for about 7 months..we used to sit together in the same room, we were pretty close..we used to laugh together, make jokes, etc..even after we separated into different teams, we would hangout sometimes..go for coffee, walks, etc..but I have to tell u he was mean and rude at times..even though he used to "joke" with me..he used to jokingly call me "b****" (so many times), call me low level, make fun of indians, say im worth a trash can, make fun of south indians(which is what i am) and say they are dirty, degrade me,asked me to BUY him food, cigs, etc... If you break a lease due to relocation are you entitled to your security deposit?

My husband is being relocated and we need to break our lease. There are only two months left. We paid a security deposit of $650 as well as a $100 pet deposit. We intend to leave the house in better condition than when we found it. We have had nothing but problems with this house since we moved in. A defective heater, a door that is unable to shut and lock properly, excessive flooding on the property, infestation of insects, and other issues. The landlord lives in WA, while the property is in CA. We have had many phone conversations with our landlord regarding these issues, and none of them have been satisfied. What do we do? We will be moving within 3 weeks, but will have paid the rent through August 1st.

So what is the actual relationship of the Commander and Chief to a soldier. Yes he's in "charge", but he's also just a civilian. I personally think it might be best to go to court or at least seek legal advice because your situation with this roommate is so complicated. there's this pakistani guy i used to work with for about 7 months..we used to sit together in the same room, we were pretty close..we used to laugh together, make jokes, etc..even after we separated into different teams, we would hangout sometimes..go for coffee, walks, etc..but I have to tell u he was mean and rude at times..even though he used to "joke" with me..he used to jokingly call me "b****" (so many times), call me low level, make fun of indians, say im worth a trash can, make fun of south indians(which is what i am) and say they are dirty, degrade me,asked me to BUY him food, cigs, etc... 18 year girl who's planning to move out in the next year, advice?

I've applied for what seems like a millllllllllllion jobs, and i'm waiting to hear back. I'm also planning to start moving out in the next year. I'm a bit confused (as i've lived with my mum till now), as to how everything works. Obviously as a young girl, my job isn't very high paying, so how do people make ends meet who get low wage? I live with my parents and they charge me rent. They moved someone else into the house and told me that I need to share my room. Fireworks such as these can definitely have an impact on your body, but brain damage and "internal problems" as you state them are not examples. The types of damage that you can have from these would mainly be hearing loss due to the excessive noise. The only other examples would be if you have a sort of strobe piece, and someone with epilepsy, and sensitivity to strobes is watching. This can cause a seizure. Only other option would be if you didn't follow directions while lighting and externally injured yourself. Not brain damage though.

Why do people think I'm a chump and soft?

Everywhere I go I get singled out and people try to mess with me. Asians, Arabs, Latinos, and Indians are friendly to me, but blacks and whites try to herb me alot, by talking down to me and trying to single me out. I don't know if It is my appearance I'm big and tall, but soft featured black 20 years old kid, humble, well mannered, well groomed, and just a tiny bit shy. I have a big body Im 6'2" 240 lbs,but Im solid in good shape, practice good hygiene, nice to everyone, avoid confrontation and try to live life, walk with confidence, but people always try and test me for some reason. Especially women I don't if it my soft appearance, but in actuality I'm not soft I've been through alot in my life, and I have alot of pent up anger, and the outside I look nice, but on the inside I'm very angry but people don't tend to see it, I also don't try and mask my anxieties and stresses with mind altering substances such as drugs or alcohol, my body is clear but my mind is not. My trainer always reminds us that the halt is a forward movement. So what I do is I sit down about five strides before where I am supposed to halt. I then half-halt two or three strides out from the halt. Squeeze with the thigh, push your horse into the bridle, aaaaand halt. It always sounds silly to me, pushing a horse into stopping, but trust me, it works. Darn near every time I ride my halts like that my horse stops square, or very close to it. I can even get my five year old OTTB, who has been in training for two months or so, to halt square.

How can i motivate myself to get fit to boost my confidence, health, and happiness?

Im about 6' 2", 260 lbs and tired of being out of shape. I desperately need this change in my life for confidence and health. However, in this goal that i have set i am my own worst enemy. I keep thinking positive about how i can do this and how good it would be, but i can never motivate myself to go for a run or try to join a gym. Im stuck in this routine where i wake up, do anything that i want and just tell myself there is always tomorrow. I'd like to get fit by sometime in late august, so when i go back to school i feel prepared. Im really nice, considerate, funny, (and humble) and i think that if i were to change myself on the outside in a positive way, people may want to see what i look like on the inside too. Is it legal to tow a d.o.d members car while they are shipped out?

okay, my boyfriend was shipped out last month and his apartment complex just implemented a towing policy however, he has been shipped off when it started. he's an excellent tenant and even paid up his rent for a few months. Before leaving or going on duty the apartment complex didn't mention it to him they just said we sent out letter but if you have a D.O.D sticker on your car from what i've been told by a couple of lawyers it actually against the law to tow a car with it on the car. Also to get it out is a ridiculous amount they wont 800.00 to get it back , So as you could imagine i'm getting the run around from the apartment complex as well as the towing company.....

If this is true, it's clearly discriminatory, but not racist...that term is way overused. But this is an issue that the company will eventually have to deal with one way or the other. In the meantime, there's nothing written in stone that says you have to be happy for her, but until she has the chance to prove/disprove her capabilities, and if it is true that she had nothing to do with this...it would be absolutely wrong to punish HER for it...let alone quit your job over it. And as for resenting her, it would be wise to remember...for those who decide to stay with the company...that, like it or not, she will be in a position of authority. I would probably resent the company and it's policies more than I would her.

I believe the ad is for Chevy or GM. One of the American car companies. The commercial starts with two little boys and the older one is teaching the younger one how to salute. What are my options for defamation of character on my business?

I own a bounce house business and we rent both wet and dry units. The wet price and a different price from the dry price. We have had customers reserve a dry slide and then use it wet so we had to enforce a deposit. Unfortunately before we did that we had one customer do this so when we arrived, we did not charge her the full wet price but discounted it and she only had to pay $40 more than the dry price cost. The customer paid at the time with no problem but now she is posting negative reviews making up complete lies on Craigslist saying we arrived late when we did not and how we had no company uniforms which is all completely false. She is writing everywhere that we are a scam. I have contacted Craiglist and the postings do get flagged but she just keeps reposting and nothing happens. School ended for me yesterday and I was a Freshmen. I'm one of those kids that think having 3 girlfriends/boyfriends a year is pointless and almost always used just to fit in. I have only had 1 girlfriend my life and that was in 7th grade, and there was no real love, just curiosity I suppose. Anyway, this year I found a girl I really found attractive, not only in looks but I knew she would only be a good influence on me, hardworking , athletic and the person that does the right thing etc. She was the only girl I was interested in the whole year, and I knew she wasn't the most popular girl (don't think this the wrong way) and such, resulting that not many boys would go after her, and me hoping I had a chance. I had gone after her the whole year but eventually had little hope left, so I planned that if I became great friends with her by next year, and so on, that a relationship could spark ( we were already pretty good friends). I wasn't planning on going after any other girl, she was like my "dream" girl you could say. I asked her to homecoming and she said yes but her parents didn't even let her go to the dance :( . I wanted to show her my feeling just to see if I did have a chance, so I wrote a cheesy poem and secretly put it in her bag. She had acted the same towards me so I assumed she read it and didn't like me, or didn't get it. Recently she gave me her number which excited me, and especially did when we texted 3 days straight, with her always being the first to text me. She brought up the poem and said she wanted to start out "slow," and get to know me. We kept texting, and I tried not to be annoying and we talked about each other's interests/ hobbies. I'm not in this relationship for sex, as I'm too young anyway. Yesterday she left to go on a 2 week cruise and I'm constantly trying to stop thinking of her, because then I know when she finally decides if she wants a relationship I won't be completely devastated if it's no. So when she comes back, and if she texts me back right away, would that be a good sign she thought about me? And then should I ask her to hang out (she already told me she would like to hang out this summer) , like a movie or is that too serious? And even then, how long should I wait before asking since she wants it "slow." Personally I try to be humble and not show off, and don't want her to be pressured at all.
